Apr 03, 2013 Rating Puppy digging carpet by: Robyn Yep, puppy stuff. Does he have a crate? If not, get one asap and put him in there when you cannot directly watch him. You can give him a filled kong with peanut butter/biscuits for something to keep him occupied. When you can watch him, redirect him from digging by removing him from the situation or giving him a toy to play with. And in fact, if you can, keep him out of the rooms that have carpets. Also make sure he is getting enough exercise and has toys to keep him busy.
