13 Y/O JRT

Hello, I agree with the other comments. It sounds like it could be a health issue. I was reading up on Canine dementia a few weeks ago, and that could be a possible cause of the behavior, but you really need to get him to a vet ASAP. I hope you get some answers and that the vet can treat him. Good luck.

13 yo Jack Russell with behavious issues
by: Anonymous

Hi, My beautiful 16 yo Jack Russell, Milo, recently passed away and the vet thinks he may have had a brain tumor. A tumor can completely change the personality of a dog and given that your mother's dog is 13 yo, this could be the problem. He may be in pain and taking his frustration out on those people/things around him.

It sounds like you need to either take him to your vet or a trainer needs to come in to evaluate him maybe it is a protection thing with him they say that they can get that way I do not know why though Good Luck

Jack Russell gone crazy

If this is a new behavior, then I would take him to the vet. A sudden change in behavior can indicate a health issue.
If not...it sounds like he hasn't been socialized much. Does he get an adequate amount of exercise and time outside with other dogs? If not, if may pay to hire a dog walker. And it may also help to have a behaviorist come in and help with some of the snapping and destructive stuff going on.
