16 year old Jack Russell

My Female Jack Russell (Rowdi) is 16 years and 4 months and 4 days old. She is my world. She has definately slowed down. She can't hear or see very well and sleeps alot. We still go for walks everyday. She is so unpredictable I have to have her on a leash if we go where there are cars. She gets in moods where I can't catch her. She stays just out of reach and runs around me as if to say "catch me if you can". Not sure what she is thinking when she does this. My question is , is there any history of JR's getting senile later in their life?

Yes they can go senile but I have heard that Jacks can live up to 20 years I have a friend of mine who has a Jack named Turbo and he is 20 YO and still going strong so I would not worry too much. But I would call your vet and see what he has to say and what he might find with your baby.I have 2 boy Jacks myself Elvis is 5 and Patchie I just rescued in Nov and he is only 17 months old and they can live long healthy lives!
