Aggressive 6yr old JRT

We've had our 6 yr old male JRT since he was 10 weeks old, and lets just say I cant remember a time that he was not aggresive and down right mean, if he doesnt get his way or your bothering him. He has bitten me, my mom and my 13 yr old son. The dog just bit my mom last night because she reached for the tv control. He has been neutered, and we try to play with him and love on him but all we get are growls and teeth shown. When he's around other people he's fine and peolpe cant believe that he is like this towards us, I try to be dominant but he charges me and sometimes I have to prepare to get bitten if I dont stand down. We have done some training and he behaves in front of everyone else, it's when he's home that he shows his true colors. I dont know what else to do, I was considering putting him in a kennel outside but I dont know how he would handle that mentally. Someone please help us!!!

Trying to dominate him is likely going to make the problem worse. I agree that you should contact a positive reinforcement trainer who can help you and then you will have tools to practice and use for those everyday moments. Hopefully you will learn strategies to prevent the aggression. It is a journey but they are worth it!
