Jack Russell aggressive when leaving
by: Alice

Any change in behavior warrants a trip to the vet to make sure everything is ok health wise. Sometimes dogs act out when they are in pain. In the meantime, make sure your Jack is on a consistent exercise schedule that includes a long walk or two to get out excess energy. I would look into caging your Jack when you are out of the house. Caging is not a bad thing, many dogs like the comfort of a smaller closed in space. Also, when you leave, give your Jack a toy such as a Kong that is stuffed with something yummy like peanut butter and biscuits. This will keep your Jack busy and will distract him while you leave.
However, I'm concerned about the nipping and the aggressive behavior. After he gets a clean bill of health from the vet I would also consider having a pet behaviorist come to your home. It is better to be safe then sorry!
