Ten years ago, I met my first Jack Russell, Riley, and fell in love. He belonged to a co-worker and I was lucky enough to dogsit Riley a few times when his owner went on business trips. Sadly, Riley passed away earlier this year, but at the ripe old age of 18! Last year, finally, I was able to add a Jack Russell to our family.
Buster is a Parson Russell and my best friend. He was born on Christmas Day, 2008. Buster loves swimming, boating, hiking, hunting critters, sleeping under the covers, belly rubs, riding shotgun in our golf cart, and sits patiently by the oven while peanut butter treats are baking. He wears many hats in our family: comedian, guard dog, designated squirrel chaser, exercise partner, bed warmer, and enthusiastic greeter of friends and family. In fact, Buster has been such a joyful addition to our family that we brought home his full sister, Dixie, this past September...but that's another story.
