Jack Russell destroying harness

Is it because he is trying to eat the harness? Have you tried a back harness - one that is on the back end or one that is on the shoulders so the dog can't get to the leash plus there is no pressure on the neck. If you google that I'm sure you will find some. If it's a chewing issue then you will have to work on training and commands. Usually walking a few steps (with the leash held high with very little space between you and your Jack). Have him sit and then give a treat. Gradually increase the distance. Go very slow!
