drinking lots of water

My 12 year old jack has been drinking a lot I'd water lately...if i fill his bowl he will drink it,all. Five minutes later, he will be scratching at his bowl for more. He is also peeing in the house a lot, even right after he has gone outside. His belly has also gotten huge with no change in amount of food he eats. : (
