Ginger is 4 years old. She has always been somewhat overweight. She is one of 5 JRs owned by my son. Last Wednesday Ginger suddenly stopped moving and seemed paralysed. Son rushed her to the vet (he lives in the Caribbean)and the vet diagnosed cardiomyapathy. She has an enlarged heart so he prescribed 20 mg Furusemide (10 mg twice a day) and Vetmedin twice a day.
She is taking the meds.OK and is able to eat and drink but she cannot stand up at all and has to be carried outside to pee but has not had any bowel actions.
The vet will visit today and son will ask why she cannot move or stand up. has anyone else here experienced such symptoms? We thought once the meds. started to work she would try to stand up and walk.
It is all very upsetting.
