Biting
by: Frank

He looks so innocent in the picture! I agree with all the advice given. One more thing to try.....when he is biting, say "no" in a firm voice and then give him an appropriate toy to chew on like a Kong or other doggie chew toy. Usually they grow out of it so don't worry too much.

Thank you all for the comments
by: Heather

Thank you so much for the advice its much appreciated. This is Missy she is 7 months old. The reason I posted this question was because I was on the phone at the weekend and she bit me through my jumper and has bruised me thankfully she didn't break the skin she doesn't like me ignoring her but it worries me thst she could do that with one of my nephews who are 8 and 10 years old. I do say no firmly to her but she persistently tries again and again I take it that its a case of patience and staying strong! She is so adorable its very difficult I feel guilty shouting at her but know that's the only way she will learn. Thanks for all comments good to know I am not alone with this!

Stop biting!
by: Dr. Bill

Best suggestion I found that works is if they start biting, just ignore them. Once they seem to calm down then come back and try again. Pretty soon they get the idea that if they bite, you won't pay attention to them. Seems to work for us. Good luck.

by: Deborah

I really think Laura is right I also have a 15 month old Jack named Patch when people walk into my home he nips at there legs and calfs and ankles I started picking him up and telling him no and very bad and he is not doing it anymore and Jacks just hate to be ignored they just hate it but it really works for training I have 2 Jack boys.
Good Luck by the way he is just too adorable!

Cute biter
by: Laura

He is a real cutie!!! How old is he? If he tries to bite you, you need to give a firm no and then turn your back on him and ignore. When he is calm and quiet, turn around and praise him and pet him gently. See if that helps!
