How many Jack Russells can you have on one property?

by Dawn Green
(South Africa)

I have a 10 year old male and a 7 year old female. There are puppies that are going to be put down. Can I take 2 more Jack Russells or is that a bad idea?

Too much of a good thing?

Sounds like you have a big heart and are obviously a JRT lover. It hurts me to hear that there are JRT's out there that could be potentially put down.

Since you have raised 2 Jack's, you know the amount of work they take. Depending on the size of your house, how much time you have and factoring in the cost of food...if you feel like you could handle it, then I wouldn't think it should be an issue.

One idea is to take them in and foster them until you (if you want) find a suitable home for them. You could contact a local JRT club and see if they know of anyone who wants one. If I lived closer I would take them in :-)

Best of luck and let us know how things work out!
