Introducing a new puppy to house
by: Frances

I would get a male puppy. Sometimes having two females together can be a power struggle. Since your Jack is much older I would take the time to introduce the two of them very slowly. Just a little bit of interaction each day and never leave the two of them alone together for the first few weeks/months. The puppy will have a lot more energy than the older dog so make sure the puppy isn't getting too aggressive - but the older dog will let the younger one know usually with a growl. Make sure you feed the older dog first and let her out first as well so that she continues to be the alpha dog. Also, it is very important to drain the younger ones energy with long walks and what not so that she is not a burden to the older one with his energy.
