It's a pee pee problem

My Jack Russell is fully house trained. He is seven years old. About a month ago he went pee pee in our bed at night. We had been in the backyard all night sitting around the fire and the dog was out with us, so I know the problem wasn't that he needed to go out. At the time we dismissed it as a fluke thing. Today it happened again. this time I was watching TV on the bed and the dog came into the room. I called to him and he jumped up on the bed but he was slinking like he was bad. he then proceeded to pee all over the bed. He had been out at least three times that morning so I don't think he needed to go ~ Help!

Jack Russell peeing in bed
by: Betty

It's unusual for a dog to suddenly start wetting the bed if there wasn't an issue prior. I would take your Jack to the vet to make sure he doesn't have a urinary track infection or something along those lines.
Make sure you buy a special enzyme based cleaner/detergent from a pet store that eradicates pee. Regular detergents won't get out the pee smell which attracts dogs to "revisit" a spot.
Also, I would not let your Jack up on your bed! As tempting as it is to have a snuggling dog with you, it's just too tempting for him right now.

Good luck!
