Underlying all aggression is usually stress. I think that when you raise your voice you stress your Jack out. It didn't excuse the behavior but it probably is the cause. Is that the only time the bites occur? If so, I would really work on not raising your voice (I know how easy it is to yell at a teenager since I have one). Maybe going into a separate room when you need to be firm with your son will help since it seems like your Jack is protecting your son. The fact that your Jack has cut through the skin worries me a little. If you start to notice that lowering your voice is not helping I would think about calling in a pet behavioral therapist to help you out.
