Jan 13, 2012 Rating Jack Russell won't come near me by: Terry Sometimes it's hard for a puppy to adjust to a new environment. They may be homesick for their Mom and their littermates. Be patient, as she gets used to your house she will become less afraid. Be sure to talk softly and slowly to your little pup so you don't scare her. Also get down on her level so you don't seem intimidating. Remember to give her little treats to. Hold them out in your hand so she associates your smell with the yummy treat. See if that helps!
