jack russell 17 weeks anal glands keep getting infected

by ruth
(sunderland)

my jack russell is 17 weeks and his anal glands keep getting infected. I have been to the vets 5 times for antibiotics and twice anti inflamitery injections. I hope he doesn't have to have an op for removal as he could become incontinent.

Babywipes NEW
by: Sam B

My bitch had this when she was around 6 for 6 months or so. She had anti-biotics that cleared it up, but I have managed to keep it at bay by using babywipes on her bum, especially when it is dirty after she has opened her bowels. Touch wood, she had not had it again.

Jack Russell anal glands NEW
by: Ryan

Sorry to hear about your Jack's issues. Our Jack had some similar issues - though not quite as bad as your little guy's. This is an interesting article:

See if any of the suggestions help! And you may want a second opinion from a different vet before you do any type of surgery!
