Jack Russell Terrier body and type

by Luis Ramirez
(Easton, PA)

i have a jack russell terrier which his body indicates he is short legged because he has a longer shapped to his body and is not as skinny as the parson jack russell. although he is also not as thick looking as the short legged i see on the internet and the very few i seen myself. He is leaner than they are and his legs are not as short as the short legged jack russell either. he is around 12.5 inches which is .5 taller that the limit of a short legged jack so standards say and he weights around 20 pounds which is a big diff compare to the 15 or even 10 pound shorties i seen. He is not fat at all like i said he is lean muscular but not really that thick. So i wonder if this could be a result of a short legged parson jack russell mating

Jack Russell Shortie
by: Elise

It's hard to tell without seeing a picture of your Jack. It doesn't sound like the stats match up to a shortie. Do you think your Jack may be a mixed breed and bred with something other then Jack?
