Jack Russell Terrier scared at the dog park and on daily walk

I took my young male JR to the dog park for the first time and he was scared of all the dogs, some of which were a lot larger than he.� He's usually very playful in one-on-one settings with smaller dogs.� Should I continue bring him again?� He also tends to bark and lunge at all dogs on our daily walk...how do I teach him to stop?
