We have a 3 yer old jrt & he has begun biting me & only me. I feed him, walk him, & all the other necessities.
he will turn on me for no apparent reason & bite. We have had him about 8 months & since we have had him neutered.
His tail was not cropped & the vet says too late now.

This behavior started about 2 months ago. What can I do?

@Joel, wow. I do all the stuff you say not to,

my jrt is the BEST. he listens, never poops or pees inside, when I'm not home he will not eat until I come home (1 hour or 8 hours). Only thing he want from me is LOTS of LOVE and long long walks. Prince has me wrapped around his paws and I love it!! When he has done something naughty, I do let him know with a stern voice and sad face. it works!

Good luck, every dog is different.

Im wondering if he's trying to establish dominance? Maybe doing obedience classes with him so he learns basic commands while being around other dogs might help. Once he has basic commands make him work for treats. Make sure you and your family eats first before he does. Make sure you are the first one out the door for walks, don't greet him the first thing when coming home-ignore him for about five min, make him "sit" and wait before he gets food. These things will help establish dominance. If that doesn't help I would suggest getting help from a trained pet behaviorist.
