Our 8 month old JRT female hates anything around her middle. When we put a harness on her (have tried many types) she freezes and loses all personality. If she sees us reaching for her leash she runs and hides. She has not had any negative experiences with the leash or harnesses. We hear that other JRTs pull the leash. She freezes and is not even interested in going for her most favorite treat. It seems harmful to put the leash on her collar (which she doesn't mind the collar) since she would have to be pulled. It is too dangerous where we live to let her go free on our acre so she is confined to a small front grass area of our house for play.
