I have a four year old jack russell... He for the most part is a wonderful dog!! However when i take him places such as the park and dog park he will ignore me.. Won't come won't do anything he is told.. What is something I could do to make him listen a little better in public?

Listening issues

Sounds like your Jack isn't quite ready for the dog park. I would work on basic obedience/basic commands in your home and backyard. Read up on how to do it and make sure you are rewarding him with high value treats for listening and following directions. A class might be good too because he would have to learn to listen and follow commands with the distraction of other dogs and people being there but still in a controlled environment. And after that, try the dog park again and see how he does.
