leash pulling

well he's been through training, is excellent at all his other commands, runs 3K a day with me and goes for off leash ball time at an enclosed outdoor skating rink, I tried the gentle leader over the snout and it didn't work at all so now I have a padded harness by the same company, but he still pulls all the time. He is 8 months old now and maybe he will change, I hope so.

Jack Russell leash pulling

Sounds like your Jack is still an exuberant puppy.

There are leashes out there that put pressure in different areas and make it harder to pull - like Gentle Leader leashes.

I would start obedience training/classes right away which will help with everything in the long run including pulling. Once he has the basic commands down, you can use "heel" to make him stop pulling.

Make sure your puppy is getting plenty of exercise. If there is someone in the family that likes to run or bike, have your Jack tag along. This should get out some of the energy/pull.

The pulling will not stop overnight but it can be easily reduced with these steps. Let us know how things go!
