The belly of our Jack Russell seems to change colour with the heat or how hot she is, it gets darker when she is gets hot. Lately I have noticed that natural white patches have appeared also, they are similar to the mottling on the outer edge of her belly.

Should I worry? Or do you know why this happens!?

Jack skin on stomach changing colors
by: Brian

You probably don't want to hear that there is a long list of conditions that cause hyperpigmentation....the good news is your vet will usually set your little guy on the fast track to recovery. Hormonal imbalances, skin infections, genetics and even parasites can lead to the darkened skin. A few tests can usually pinpoint the issue, and ointments or a few pills can control most problems. Hopefully it is nothing but any kind of changes in your Jack should be investigated just in case.
