hi my jack russle dog went with a bitch last weekend since coming back he has been whimpering every day also shivering and sitting by the door constantly crying what could be wrong with him he is 7 yrs old

Shivering can mean excitement and possibly wanting to get to the female dog. But it can also mean that your Jack is in pain or sick. Is he still eating and drinking? If he seems to be eating and drinking and appears healthy, I would wait for a few days to see if this behavior stops. If he doesn't eat or drink, I would take him to the vet within 48 hours.
