Puppy biting
by: Susan

You definitely have a lot on your hands. A newborn baby and a new puppy. Was your puppy adopted? If so, do you know what type of life she had before coming to you? Sometimes that can be a factor. When she bites you, make sure you say "no" in a stern voice and then give her something more appropriate to chew on (a chew toy or what not) immediately. Do not scold or hit your pup. Lack of trust or respect is a big component to biting. A dog who trusts you will not bite.
Another factor- is she getting enough exercise. Jacks have tons of energy and need consistent short and long walks. Wearing out a dog can help release some of that pent up energy.
Socialization is another key factor. Taking your puppy to the dog park or to obedience classes can help because dogs who are properly socialized don't usually bite. And at or before 4 months is a good time to do it.
Jacks and babies can get along but obviously and especially at this point, make sure you introduce the two of them very slowly and never leave the baby unattended with the Jack nearby just in case.

If things don't turn around quick, I would call in a personal trainer or consider re homing (unfortunately) your pup since you don't want to have to worry about your newborn.
Let us know how it all goes, best of luck!!
