Jack Russell milk glands
by: Anonymous

At the time of weaning, there may be an abundance of milk and glands that are warm, swollen, and painful to touch, but the dog should remain alert and healthy. Lactation can be diminished by reducing food and water intake.

If you see signs of illness such as fever, depression, poor appetite, and lethargy I would take your Jack into the vet because it could be Mastitis which is swelling of the mammary glands after birth.
