Jan 03, 2012 Rating Jack Russell laying on legs by: Maya Some dogs love to be with and be close to their owners and the lap is the perfect comfortable spot with padding and body heat. Some people may say that a dog is asserting dominance by laying accross your legs. To me, if it's something you don't like, then don't let him sit on your legs, just move them. If you like it, then great, let him sit there.
