My JRT sharp change of attitude last 2 days to Lethargic

by Carmen
(Los Angeles, CA., USA)

Khanito a 5 yr. old JRT extremely active as almost all JTR, probably ate something in his walks that we didn't notice or something else is happening. He is down and almost unwilling to walk since Sunday, just out of the blue. Took him to VCA yesterday & receive a poor diagnosis: <<He has gone to pee and poop this AM but today he doesn't want to eat anything and is completely down w/ zero energy... VCA gave him Omeprazole 10 mg. which this AM he can't have him with no food in his tummy! So unusual for Khanito not eating.
Surely, he ate something bad or something happened when he was at PetSmart the day before for a haircut/bath. Definitely he hasn't any obstruction because he has pooped today, even after he got inactive.
Anyone has an idea if this happens to your JRT. Maybe Khanito got bitten by an insect @ the park or PetSmart or something else. His diet is regular, mainly fish or turkey with lots of veggies.
Any comments/advice will be appreciated!
Khanito's mom
P.S. if i touch Khanito on the upper middle sides of his body, he cries!

Jack Russell Terrier not feeling well
by: julie

Hi Carmen,
You just took Khanito to the vet--so you need to call them and give them an update--that he's still not feeling well and he cries if you touch his side. They may want you to take him back in. Let us know know what they tell you!
