I recently got a 15 month old jack russel male from people who do not have space for him. My 12 year old Border Collie and 2 cats grew up together in a very loving, caring home where they were treated allmost like humans. They are very obedient and well-mannered animals that live together and sleep together in harmony. The jack rullel, however, is quite the opposite. I am extremely concerned, because he chases my cats and wants to attack them. Both female cats now hide inside and do not want to leave the house. What can I do to keep the jack russel but at the same time keep my own animals happy and secure they way it used to be. My animals all sleep inside but the jr sleeps outside.

Jacks and cats
by: Daniel

Honestly, I'm not sure it will go back to the way it was. Jacks are not known for being good with cats. You will have to keep you eyes on the Jack at all times to make sure the cats are safe since Jacks are not trustworthy with them. And it sounds like your cats are pretty scared as it is. It doesn't sound like this little guy is the best mix for your household - but may be good for someone without cats. Is there anyway you can rehome this little one?
