New Adopted Jack Russell

My domestic partner and I just recently adopted a 1 year old Jack Russell. He has only been with us for 24hrs but he has yet to take a poop outside. He did take a poop once inside but still has yet to poop outside after we have spent a lot of time walking him around. It seemed like he was distracted and more interested in the surroundings and had no interest in going to the bathroom.
