New brown spots on his back

by PJ

Hi,

My 8 month old English Jack is now getting very faint brown spots on his back. He is generally pure white witha brown patch on his head, face ears and butt. Just wondering why these new brown spots are appearing? He is also itching alot of the time. He is now taking a 1/2 teaspoon twice daily of ETF Vitamin, which is a marine oil, rosemary, etc. He is on a raw diet and eats Dr. Harvey's food and takes Healthy Shine pills.

Not sure what else to do. Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

Spots appear in Winter and Increase with Age NEW
by: Trixie

My Jack Russell was pure white with a brown mask. As she aged, small brown spots developed on her back. The spots are darker in the winter and fade in the summer.

Don't worry, it's definitely not uncommon for Jacks to get brown spots as they get older. Mine has tons.

Light Brown spots on JR's fur
by: Anonymous

I have a rescue Jack Russell that the vet said was between 2 and 4 and all of a sudden she has light brown spots appearing on her fur, not on the skin. She has the brown spots on her belly. It seems strange that they would appear so suddenly. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much

Itchy Jack
by: Michelle

The spots are nothing to worry about, that is very common among Jacks.
It sounds like you have tried many things for the itching. Have you tried Benadryl or Claritan? Are vet gave us the green light so we give our Jack a little bit of Benadryl at night during allergy season before he goes to sleep and that has cut down on the itching alot.
