Not eaten all his meals Help!!

I have a 6 month jack russell he gets half a pouch of wet puppy food in jelly and a little dry food mixed together 3 times a day but he can go day and night with only eating maybe 1 feed if that sometimes, now we changed his food by accident as my partner bought the wrong stuff this was with gravy which he seemed to eat every bowl put down but that gave him dihorreha so we put him back to his normal puppy food now there is days he is eating but quite a few he isn't, does anyone have any suggestions as to what we could do? Thanks.

Feeding Jack Russell
by: Paula

I think by accidentally giving him the wrong food caused the diarrhea....been down that road before. It may take awhile for his stomach to reset. We put some human foods on top of our pups food. Cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt (great for digestion) and sometimes dog gravy (available at pet stores).

Our Tyson is a Finicky eater...
by: TJC

We can relate to what you are saying about your JRT not eating, like he used to. Our Tyson is / can be quite finicky when it comes to Dog Food. We have been giving him a 1/2 can of Tuna - tuna juice & all) and putting over his morning dried food. He absolutely Loves it. He bounces with anticipation when it comes to eating his breakfast meal. Like the others have suggested...try putting other (human grade) foods on top of his Dried Dog Food. Mix it in, and he will eat like a King....Cuz he already thinks he is anyways. Hahaha.
** Caution - Only feed your Puppy what you would want to eat. No Fats, Sweets, or grapes / rasins, etc. Have Fun with him, and he will have Fun with you.

Try some veggies and home cooking
by: Dr Bill

Our Jack is a bit fussy with eating but found that by adding a little bit of cooked chicken, pork or fish along with some carrots (YES, CARROTS)he eats almost everything! He even has taken to liking carrots raw (small pieces)as a dog treat! We also found that by mixing the kibble with home cooking that we are saving quite a bit of money over buying wet food. Good luck with your new menu.
