Outside Kennel

by Pep

What an excellent site and really pleased to have found it. In a couple of weeks we will be having a Jack Russell puppy and would like to make an outside kennel for her. We've done quite a lot of research but still can't get to know what would be the most appropriate size. We want two compartments with a removable divider so it would be suitable for all seasons; the divider acting as a wind break during cold weather. We were thinking of an overall size of 50cm by 70cm. Another problem is what size entrance/exit should we allow? Many thanks in advance for your advice. Pep

Jack Russell Kennel

Hi Pep,

50x70 is a fairly reasonable size. It really comes down to how much time the dog will be spending in the kennel. Your Jack needs to have plenty of room to spread out for sleep, and to stand up and turn around. The dimensions you gave should be fine. :)
