My JRT is 3 yrs old. I rescued him when he was 1 yr old. He is potty trained 90% of the time. Then out of the blue he will poop in the house. When he sees me head into the area of the misdeed, he gets a guilty look and jumps up and goes out of that room. When I find the problem, he knows I am disgusted and he heads immediaely to his crate. I do not shout or spank him but he knows I am upset because I have the cleaning supplies in hand. I am at my wits end to stop this behavior. Should I take him to a trainer?? For the most part, he is walked outside at 8 am, 1 pm, 5 pm, and 9 pm each day. On an 8 am run if he does not poop and I have to leave, I will put him in his crate until I return. Then I walk him again. Sometimes, he will poop and sometimes he won't. If I am home, I do not put him back in the crate. But if he goes out of sight, I start checking to be sure he has not pooped anywhere. HELP!!! He is perfect in everything else..friendly, sweet, loving, lap dog extraordinare, sits on command.
