by Collette Berger

Hello, any advice
I have a wonderful 5 month old male Jack called Eddie, he is so intelligent and learns all commands easily, but in the last few weeks, although nothing has changed in the house, he has started to pee on the beds and last night when l was on the sofa with a blanket on me he peed on me ! I didn't tell him off but took him straight outside, any ideas please

Jack Russell peeing on bed
by: Janice

I'm wondering if Eddie is fully potty trained. Maybe putting him on a stick schedule where he goes out every few hours will help. Also, when you clean the bedding, are you using an enzyme based cleaner? Dogs tend to pee in the spots they have gone before because they can sniff out the scent. Regular cleaners don't take away the scent for dog but enzyme based cleaners do. I would restrict Eddie from going on your bed and blankets. Keep him on the ground since he likes to pee on those things.
Eddie sounds like a sweetie and I'm sure with a bit of patience and retraining he will get the hang of it!
