Removal of cyst/mass tissue lump, surgery cost???

by Toni Rixon
(West Sussex UK)

My nearly 5 year old Jack has what the vet thinks could be a cyst/mass tissue lump on his left leg that may need to be removed. Has anyone experienced this and could give me an idea of what it will cost?? We have just had him treated for an infected tick bite that required an antibiotic jab and 2 week course of tablets costing us £51 We are now worried that we will not be able to afford the operation.

Have the cysts been biopsied? You should have that done first to see if the cyst really needs to be removed. It also depends on the location of the bump/cyst because some areas are more prone to fatty deposits versus cancerous lesions. If the lump is really hard or bleeding that can definitely be cause for concern. Can you give us some more information?
