My female, spayed Jack (Frito) is nearly 13 years old and in recent months has grown increasingly incontinent. It is now nearly constant. I have heard there are ways to remedy this that don't involve pills. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Dripping Urine Problem
by: Anonymous

Our female is the same as below - had her spayed at about 9 months old, and then she started having "dripping" problems (lack of estrogen). She has been taking a very, very low dose of Proin, along with a natural herb "medicine" that our holistic vet put her on (to be able to cut back on the Proin). That combo works very well - if you have a holistic vet in your area, I would highly recommend. She is now almost 15, and for some reason, it is actually getting better, she drips a lot less than she used to - not sure why.

maybe bladder infection
by: Scott

Hi Richard. This happened to our 13 year old Jack. She was spayed at 1 year old. The vet says that she loses estrogen as she gets older which will effect her muscle control to hold it in, also she was more prone to bladder infections because of it. My money is on bladder infection. Good Luck.

There are these panties that you can get at the pet stores and they velcro on along with pads but I think you need to go to one of your local pet stores that specialize in these?
Good Luck and I hope this helps you.
