Sick Puppy

by Bianca

Good morning, I bought a Jack Russell female puppy from a pet shop 2 days ago, and she doesn't look healthy, she is 2 months old but really tiny like a 6 week old puppy, she was born on the 3 May 2013. Her tummy is rather big and she has a really tiny head. She sleeps all the time and won't play with my 3 month old Jack Russell which is 3 times her size. When I got her she threw up and her poo was runny, it has gotten better now. She eats puppy food for now until she gets better. I need help to know if I should take her for a check up.

Small Jack Russell
by: William

It could be a "shorty Jack Russell". They tend to be smaller than typical Jack Russell's. However, as a puppy, it concerns me that your Jack has such low energy. At that age they are usually scampering about. I would take her into the vet, it's possible she has worms or some kind of parasite.
