Soreness in back legs

My Jack Russell just turned 7 Feb 19. She has never shown any signs of weakness until the past week or more. When she jumps off of couch or bed she hops a few steps on one of either hind legs...what could be the issue.? Possibly old age or is there underlining issues Jacka can acquire in life?

My seven year old jack , moonie, has been having back leg issues for a couple of years. does your dog seem to have a paralysis in his back legs that comes and goes pretty quickly? I've noticed my dog has improved a lot but if he gets nervous or scared his legs buckle up and he just falls. I throw his ball down the stairs and the exercize seems to have helped.

7yr old with same thing

I have two Jacks, a brother and a sister. The sister is fine, but the brother has the same sensitivity in his hind quarters and is 7 like yours. I got him stairs to use getting up and down the couch and the beds. He's improved so much and it's obvious how much less pain he's in. It was well worth the minimal expense, but I would take your guy/girl to a vet just to make sure.

Jack with back sore legs

It could definitely be arthritis. But it could also be a sprain. Is there a way that you can keep her from jumping off/on the couch and refrain from much running for a week or so? I would try that to see if it gets better and if it doesn't I would take her to the vet for some xrays just in case.
