Spaying your Jack Russell Terrier
by: Anonymous

There are a number of benefits of spaying female Jack Russell Terriers: You don't have to worry about any pregnancies and little puppies being born. Spaying eliminates the risk of ovarian and uterine cancer as these organs are removed. Your Jack Russell Terrier won't go into heat and will be calmer and less likely to escape the house to look for a mate. She also won't leave bloody discharge around the house. There are a couple of cons associated with spaying including potential weight gain, risks associated with a pet undergoing anesthesia for the surgery, and an increased risk of cancer affecting the spleen and the heart. I understand your worries about spaying-- consider pros and cons and make a decision that you feel most comfortable with.
