Sr. Adult Lady

by Betty Brown
(Savannah TN USA)

My Jack Russell especially loves Cooked chicken and prefers it to any other kind of food. She will eat her dog food some, mostly just before she goes to bed.

I am concerned to know if she can eat too much chicken. Never fried, but boiled in water or baked.
She is very healthy and energetic.

Please let me know. Thank You Betty Brown

Itching rash on her bottom
by: Betty Brown Darby's Mommy

Darby gets this 2 times a year and it has been worse this year. Don't know what causes it, possibly grass. We have tried many things but only get temporary relief. We even bought a medicated spry for $11.00. It did not help that much.
Well, recently, we bought an Alvera Plant and I take one of the stems and keep it in a baggie. I wash her bottom then split the alvera and apply it to her spots. She gets almost instant comfort. i do have to apply it 2-3 times a day but she does get comfortable. I am so glad I found something to help her. There has been interest in this problem on the JR Site. We could not afford the allergy tests so this is wonderful. Hope it helps Your problem.

Sometimes there can be too much of a good thing. I would mix the chicken in with the other food. Hard food is good for a dog's teeth and the food itself provides more nutrients then just the chicken. However, since your Jack is healthy and energetic, I wouldn't worry about it too much, just make sure your Jack is getting enough variety.
