Submissive Jack Russel
by: Paula

It sounds like it could be a combination of nervousness, defensiveness. When company comes over, I would completely ignore your Jack and tell your guests to do the same. Just walk on by him, no petting, etc. Most importantly, your Jack may need a little more socialization. Have you tried an obedience class? This would get your Jack out and about among other people and dogs. Learning to follow commands and practicing these commands could instill more confidence in your Jack (and your relationship). And then it could eventually help when guests come.
