My Jack is 6 yreas old. She sometimes collapses and is completely unconsious. After lying her in a comfortable position she comes around after a minute or so the vet has given her a complete check over and says she is fine. Any help will be very useful.

Dog with narcolepsy
by: Anonymous

Hi Susan,

I just came accross a story today of a dog with narcolepsy, it sounds similar to what your dog has.

I've added the link below for you to watch the clip.

Who's Your Vet?
by: Tom

Here's my advice: get a new vet. Any vet who says a dog is fine after an episode of collapsing unconscious is not doing a very thorough job. This is a big warning sign of a health problem - you need to find a vet who will do his or her job properly and figure out what's wrong with the dog.
