The joys of having two tiny dogs with big personalities!

We have two fantastic small dogs loved to bits - Izzy is a 50/50 chihuahua x JRT who stands 9cm to withers and weighs 2.7 kg. Full of energy but equally happy to snuggle up in the sun all day! can jump vertically to about 3 feet providing she knows it is sturdy and will jump into the arms of someone she knows will catch her! We have taught her loads of tricks which she'll do without food rewards just for the praise and play! Just starting to do some agility courses with her and she still learns new things quickly and securely (she is nearly 5 now)Great with other dogs and people. she turns heads wherever we go and loves the attention!

Mia at two months was the most adorable dumpy little JRT you can imagine - yappy and full of boing! Izzy did not know what to make of her this creature in her house 18 months her junior but they settled well even when Mia overtook her in size at about 4 months! Mia is a typical long wheel bas short legged JRT who must have some sausage dog somewhere in the breeding! Very bright and intelligent and learns new tricks very quickly however she is very food focussed and is reluctant to perform for the fun of it alone! A good jumper again and bounces vertically and athletically when excited. a definite hunter who digs for the fun of it but fortunately has not yet escaped from the confines of the garden. She is not great with other dogs and is anxious about greeting them so as a result she barks first which can be rather alarming for others... we are working on this as well as teaching her to give us space at the door way otherwise she is well behaved :-)
these two creatures are the most beautiful looking and they both attract attention when we are out walking or running in the woods - I was a long time being convinced to have dogs but I can homestly say I regret not being an owner sooner - they give us all such joy every day - we would be lost without them. Before having them I could not understand people's attachment - looking back I cannot now understand how I could have felt like that - ever!!! We have loads of other pics and videos we'd love to share - but I'm having trouble uploading any at the moment?

That is great about the potty training I know Elvis my 4 year old Jack taught Patch the one I just rescued the doggie door within 24 hours Patch only had maybe 2 accidents when we got him so 2 dogs are always better then 1 so have each other for company 2 I also have a Lab mix so I have a houseful and it is a perfect pack. But I still want to get another Jack but when Im ready Im getting or should I say saving another Jack but I want a puppy because Im home all day to train him or her my hubbie thinks Im nuts about getting a forth dog.

Two are better than one!
by: Dr. Bill

I was a bit relunctant in the beginning to get a dog (even though I had dogs when I was growing up), but we got Rod Taang, a JRT now 10 months old and recently added Scooter, a 9 week old daschund "brother" for Taang. They are still getting adjusted to each other but they play pretty well together and tire each other out during the course of the day. Rod Taang is also giving Scooter good tips on outdoor toilet training and lease walking.
Best theraphy in the world to get home and see those two excited faces greet you at the door!

Jacks
by: Laura

Isn't having 2 Jacks better then 1 :-) Sounds like they both have such different and unique personalities that they make life really fun. That's what my Jack's do. I couldn't imagine my world without them and I love coming home to them greeting me. I imagine you feel the same about your two as well. It's true how much value a pet can bring to a home. I think that is why many studies say that pet owners are happier in life :-)
