vomiting dog

Hi, I have a 2year old female jack Russel. She is on a premium vet choice diet. Eats nothing else. She vomits at least 3-4times per week but still very energetic. Have taken her many times to the vet but they don't know what's wrong. Any ideas?

Vomiting Dog Hints NEW

Hi, I don't know how experienced you are with PRT and JRT types, but over the years I have had a few that exhibited vomiting....it is fairly commno; some do, some don't. How many times a day are you feeding? I have one girl that has to have a small breakfast (a small amount of normal food plus a spoonful of yoghurt) or she will vomit yellow bile every morning. Even a couple of dog biscuit/treats will make a difference. Have another girl that has never vomited in her life and can't stand breakfast! It isn't necessarily a sign of illness/disease, but, obviously, a check up with the vet is sensible advice.

I have a Jack Russell terrier that has EPI we almost lost him last winter one of the signs was throwing up the other one was diarrhea and he was eating his poop. After much money invested we found out what he had , his pancreas wasn't producing the enzymes. So now he has been eating raw pig pancreas that I grind up for him along with a homemade diet. I got him off of kibble completely last week. The sight of kibble makes him want to throw up. They did tests on him and checked his TLI and that's how they found it he was constantly hungry and ravenously eating everything in sight and then pooping it out. I couldn't get out fast enough to clean up his poop he would eat it. Keep an eye on your dog for these kind of behaviors the pig pancreas is very inexpensive and it has saved our dogs life ...he's back to his old bouncy self again. I no that he wouldn't of made it last winter if it wasn't for me persisting and trying to find out what was wrong with my dog. Please read about it EPI is normally found in German shepherds not in the jack Russel breed please spread the word, good luck!

I would suggest changing her food, maybe it is too rich for her. My JR Tillie (2+ yrs old), is sick occasionally, it bothers me more than her. I have changed her food several time, (I now feed her a locally produced kibble which seems to agree with her plus 1 ounce of raw mince) There are no additives. It may be worth while looking around your area for something similar or ask your vet to suggest one. All foods do not agree with all dogs, it's trial & error until you find the right one.
