Jack Russell weight gain after spaying
by: Julie

Spaying can affect energy levels as well as metabolism because the hormone drive has decreased. The weight gain can most likely be caused by continuing to feed a high energy diet to a dog that is reducing its need for energy as it reaches adult size. I would talk to you vet as well as consult the back of the bag of food to see if maybe you are giving your Jack too much food. It might be time to cut back.
