I own a 9 month old beautiful JRx, she always seems to be starving, she has had worms and I wormed her as instructed by my vet 2 weeks ago 1 tablet of Drontal plus but she is still always hungrey I have seen no more signs of worms although she does on occasions scrape her backside on the floor and her breather is at times a little smelly any advise anyone?? Thanks in advance Jo

Hello Jo,

If your dog has had worms for a while then re-worm him 2 weeks later to make sure they are all gone.

Another thing if he has had the worms for a while then the hunger may be due to catch up as the worms have had the food. It's a bit like when you have had the Flu and not eaten properly for a while and as soon as you get better your hungry all the time for a while.

The other thing is if he's like my male JRT he will be on the scrounge if they think nice food is on offer.

Stick to just his normal dog food with no human food as dogs have problems with salt content in human food.
